The user can create user-defined reports in DiskState. Follow this simple procedure to do this:
- Open the Report Creator from the "Reports" button in the Reports window.
- Enter a human name of your report, e.g. "My executable files".
- Enter the extension(s) that goes along this report. You can use multiple extensions here. For executables on the Win32 platform, we have "exe" and "com" files for example. Extensions are separated by commas. In spirit of our example, enter "exe, com" without the quotes. Note: If you would like to include all the files in a report, use "*" instead.
- Select sort criteria: Path, file size or file date. We would like to find the largest executables, so we click "Size".
- Choose sort order, either ascending or descending (the latter is when the checkbox is unchecked).
- If you like to filter files in your report by file size, tick the Size Filter checkbox and select the file size range of your choice.
- Click the "Apply" button to create the new report template.
- Close the Report Creator and observe "My executable files" in the combo box next to the "Generate" button in the Reports window.
Report templates are stored in Reports.ini located in the DiskState folder. If there are no custom reports, this file is deleted.
