-DiskState-

Internet Notification

To ensure that you are running the latest version of DiskState, you can ask DiskState to poll an Internet Server once a week or every time DiskState is started for news or upgrades.

If you for some reason would like to poll off an old read message of the server, click "Flush History". This deletes the ID and timestamp of received messages. "Check Now" will view the latest message all over again.

If DiskState detects an update and if there's automatic update tool available on the Internet, it will ask you if you would like to automatically update your copy to the latest version. This process is fully automated. It is highly recommended to upgrade to the latest version of DiskState. Upgrades and bug fixes in the v2.x range are all free of charge.

Security

If your workstation is safely behind a firewall, you can specify a proxy server towards the Internet. By default, DiskState will use your Windows settings for this.

Under the hood, DiskState opens an HTML file on a web server to check for upgrades. If an update is found, DiskState will pop up a dialog with the news and a link for download the new upgrade (and even offer an automatic upgrading functionality if available). Note: this program only reads data from a server - it does not give away any information from your computer - nor does it register an upgrade.

Upgrade manually?

If you don't fancy this feature, you can grab ahold of the updates directly from Geekcorp Software. Go to the following URL
